[ Harmony knows he will be just fine, but she wants to keep his spirits up. ]

I'm on the line if you need me. ( he doesn't argue, as the odds the guards will stop and accost her is likely.

klaus waits with the little patience he has to spare, staring mind-numbingly at the same wall he's been staring at for the past few days now. the guard opening his door not long after harmony arrives is of no surprise, though it grates he did not hear it coming, what with his powers nullified.

he is escorted by the same man that seems forever on-duty. the man, whose days are numbered, makes some off-color comments regarding klaus' submissive visits.

klaus responds, ) Bring us whatever is needed to write the bloody contract. ( he's rewarded with a shove into the room. the guard laughs and shuts the door behind him. )

[ Harmony wrinkles her nose in disgust at the guard's comments, mouthing a small 'ew' in Klaus' direction. Then she shakes her head before coming over to sit down on the chair opposite of him, resting her hands in her lap. She doesn't say anything until after Klaus speaks and the guard leaves, regarding the other man with a look of sympathy. ]

What a jackass. He didn't do anything to me on the way in, but it looks like he's been having 'fun' with you Klaus. If only we could - [ dropping her voice ] take care of him, y'know?

Have they fed you? I didn't think I could sneak a blood bag in, but I really hope they did.

[ She doesn't know what a hungry vampire of his kind looks like. ]

( klaus' smile is tight and murderous as he pulls in a deep breath and sits. the anger thrumming through him is enough that it is all he can do but take a moment to find comfort in his seat. carefully, he lays his hand, palm down, finger spread on the table, and shifts. said rage is still percolating in his gaze as it meets harmony's; were they anywhere more private perhaps he'd describe in minute detail how he'd "take care" of that guard.

instead he exhales and concentrates on her concern. )

Yes, they've provided sustenance. ( though he prefers to eat out.

the guard slams the door open at that moment to toss paper and pens on the table. ) Here you go, your majesty, ( he gives harmony a wink before shutting the door again.

after a beat, klaus drums his fingers on the table. )

Though I could eat again now.

Good. I'm glad you're not starving.

[ The guard was a bigger jerk than she thought. Harmony couldn't help thinking how he would react if she suddenly grabbed him by the shoulders and shoved him against the wall, threatening to tear his throat out. But once again, she's not here for that. She's here for Klaus.

Harmony passes the paper over to Klaus, figuring he should be the one to start writing his part of the agreement before she would write her own. ]

Look. We'll get this sorted, then get something to eat. Sound good?

[ What that something is goes left unsaid. They could discuss it once they're out of the prison. ]

( he can't say the idea doesn't soothe him. if it's not the guard's throat he's liable to rip out, surely anyone will do. with a heavy glance at harmony, he picks up a pen, straightens out a piece of paper, and begins to write.

he narrates, ) "I, Klaus Mikaelson, a Dominant, agree to a contract of three months with Harmony Kendall, a submissive, in order to avoid conducting certain mutilation and murder..."

( he actually scrawled "upon the following stipulations", but that doesn't have the same ring to it. with a peek up at harmony, he smiles. )

"1. That we fulfill in part or whole our respective monthly quotas,

2. That she resides with in my household at least half of each month,

3. That she behaves according to the laws of the city, and

4. That she may work and manage her finances independently of me."

( he slides the paper over. ) Anything to add?

[ Resting her chin in her hands, Harmony watches as he starts to write the contract, smiling when he speaks out loud. She fails to hide a snort at the mention of mutilation and murder, biting down on her lip afterwards. ]

Okay, that looks good but I do wanna add something.

[ Taking the pen from him, she turns the paper around so that it faces her and makes it easier to write on. ]

5. That both Dominant and Submissive respect each other's space and belongings.

6. That they will let each other know if they are bringing someone over for quota or otherwise.

[ She pauses, tapping her chin in thought. ]

7. That they will be honest with each other.

[ He'll notice that she's put the occasional heart doodle over some the i's. Very representive of a late 90s, early 2000's high school girl. ]

( his brows lift at the supposition of guests being welcome, though he supposes it a necessary compromise. should he not like any of her visitors, it would be easy enough to get rid of them. the last point is more interesting to him anyhow. klaus accepts the paper and pen again. (he does note the hearts with some patient endearment.)

he takes his time signing his name in long flourishes. ) Has an honest partner been a past difficulty of yours?

[ It’s not like Harmony knew a lot of people, but what if she wanted to have a girl’s night? (That would require making some female friends) Just like she did with Cordy when they were in school together.

Figures he would have a fancy signature as well. ]
