You do? That's good. [ She calls him Simon because he insisted that she should. ] Yeah. He's been really kind to me. We were talking about what we liked and I mentioned horses so he offered the lessons.

[ Harmony smiles when Klaus sits next to her and picks up the book. But his question does catch her off guard for a few moments. ]

I - I would love a horse. And I totally wouldn't mind another riding partner. I think I'd enough money saved to go towards a horse, I would just need your permission to buy one.

( the duke has been free with his time, apparently. klaus feels a bit of curiosity; he wonders how far this affection and interest goes. he's glad, though. harmony should have friends and intimates.

klaus' eyes lift from the book, gazing at her from beneath his lashes, as she falls into a somewhat uncharacteristic silence. )

( he knows he's been distant, their bloody rendezvous aside. perhaps hope's departure has impressed upon him how meaningful his current attachments are. in the past, he would avoid them, and he certainly had now, at first. but when he thinks of his daughter, he thinks also of what kind of man she would want him to be. what kind of father. )

[ Nothing has happened between her and Simon. She doesn't know if she would want that, as attractive as Simon is. He was more of a friend than a potential lover and he had lifted her spirits when the recent profiles said some horrible things about her. ]

At least I could pay half. You've been so generous to me over the past while and I appreciate it, Klaus. I really do.

[ She knows that he's hurting from losing Hope. Harmony had been afraid to ask him about it in case it stirred up some painful memories, but she would also try to be supportive if he came to her. ]

What would you call your horse?

( he doesn't argue with her counter-offer, nor audibly accepts her thanks. his smile and his honesty are his answer, his eyes dropping down to the bedspread. )

The last horse I came to feel affection for was named Theodore. ( the same horse mikael beheaded. ) It's a name that means "divine gift." He was an unexpected comfort to me, during that time. ( one perhaps he could use again. ) I suppose whatever name I decide will fit the horse I choose.

What about you? Do you have one in mind?

Theodore is a great name. I like the meaning too. [ She also likes that she is getting to know him more. ] I'm glad you had him. [ Harmony adds with sincerity, giving him a smile. ] Maybe the name will come to you once you meet the horse you want

[ His question gives her a moment of pause as she thinks about a potential name. ]

Oh, gosh. Like 'Honey' or something like that. A cute name.

( he's certain the correct name will come to him, when he finds the steed. he's also warmed by her professions of interest and feeling. )

I'd expect only the cutest. ( his tone is a touch flirtatious. after all, he does find her similarly charming.

Horses aside, however, I was wondering if you'd do me a favor.

I need some help with the filing system at Subversion. You have the experience and capabilities, and I'd trust no one else. ( that is true, all the loss and isolation he's suffered considered.

[ She answers the flirtatious tone with a bright smile, her gaze drifting over him briefly. It was nice to have this kind of exchange. ]

Absolutely, I can do that for you! I don't get to file a lot at the hospital and well, keeping myself busy can only be a good thing. And I'm glad you can trust me.

[ So she's already agreed before he's mentioned about her being paid. ]

Oh, cool! Pay would be good. We can work out those details later, depending on how long it takes me to sort out the files at Subversion. [ A beat. ] When do you need me for?

I'm not working at the hospital tomorrow so I can make a start then. Basically when I don't have a shift at the hospital, I can work on it.

[She replies, continuing to listen to him for any other important instructions.]

Sure, sure. I'll do that. With the amount of paperwork I gotta deal with for a huge lawfirm, it shouldn't be an issue for me to figure out a system.
